After the tour I attended a couple clinics. The first was Southern Pacific's Coast Line, presented by Anthony Thompson. This was a slide show historical that was well narrated, and lots of the photos are unpublished. For SP fans, this was not to be missed. Some of you may have read some of Anthony's books on the SP Coast Line.
The last clinic I attended today was the North Coast Engineering Users Forum. Jim Scorse of NCE discussed new products, new software ROM's, and showed us the wireless upgrade. All NCE cabs can be upgraded to wireless with his kits, and they will be released any day, awaiting only a few electronic components to be delivered from his suppliers before we see them on our hobby shop shelves.
This forum was a who's who of DCC, with representives of other DCC manufacturers, Tony of tony's train exchange, members of the DCC SIG, and other dealers attending. Jim also showed a new line of effects decoders with 9 function. His loco looked like a Christmas tree with all those functions turned on. Secret stuff being worked on are turntable decoders, and signal decoders with switch routing.
